Re-Development Process

Where is Amsterdam Walk in the re-development process?

The owners have recently initiated a planning process, actively seeking input and ideas from the nearby community and various stakeholder groups. Their aim is to craft a comprehensive plan that maximizes the property's potential benefit for all parties involved.

Why is Amsterdam Walk re-developing? Why can’t it stay the same?

As it stands, Amsterdam Walk is oriented away from Piedmont Park and the BeltLine. Given the rapid evolution of the BeltLine area, we are eager to contribute to Atlanta's transformation into a more walkable, bike-friendly, and accessible community for residents and workers alike.

The BeltLine's future vision includes a transit station near Amsterdam Walk, and we are positioning ourselves to capitalize on this potential opportunity. Additionally, we aim to leverage the amenities offered along the Eastside Trail and within the park to enhance the experience for our visitors and tenants.

Do you have a specific timeframe for when the retailers and existing businesses will close?

We don't anticipate any immediate changes, as we are still in the initial stages of our planning process. We are committed to upholding the terms of all current leases and will keep all stakeholders, especially our tenants, updated on our progress and future plans.

Are there plans for any of the current tenants to remain after the redevelopment?

We certainly hope that a number of our current tenants will continue to operate their businesses at Amsterdam Walk if and when the property is redeveloped. We have enjoyed a wonderful relationship with these people and are grateful that they have enjoyed success at this location.

When is the groundbreaking for the new project scheduled?

We're in the initial stages of planning, making it premature to estimate when the process will conclude or the final outcome. As our plans progress, we'll ensure all interested parties are kept updated.

Can this become an industrial site again?

The current zoning for this site is C-1, and there are no intentions to revert it to industrial use.
